Colour Ringed Whooper Swan

Group Member Erich Hediger recently observed a colour ringed Whooper Swan at High Eske reserve and sent the details to the Wildfowl and Wetlands trust. They replied with some interesting details about the travel patterns of the individual which has been monitored since 2003. The dates and departure dates are shown.

Little Owl and Barn Owl Boxes for Watton Nature Reserve

The Tophill Nest Box team have constructed some Owl boxes for erection in some locations around Tophill Low.
The team with some help from volunteers and Tophill Warden Richard Hampshire have placed one of each in the vicinity of the Watton Nature Reserve, lets hope they are all soon occupied.

New Fungus for Tophill Low

This Eyelash Fungus was discovered in a Member/Residents garden at Tophill Low and is believed to be the first record for the reserve.

Fungi species seem to have exploded throughout our area this last couple of weeks with many photos being sent in, here are some of the wierd and wonderful
